Dear Pat, I hope that those suckers aren't in your area. I think for now the hunters in LA are keeping them down because people are even eating them (I've seen 'nutria on a stick' for sale). Recipes for Nutria: www.foxnews.com/story/2001/05/31/nutria-recipes/YUK....

I agree Pat. Yuk is right. But I sure do hope that they kill all the nutria so that they don't come over to Texas. Then again......the fire ants here would probably kill them.

Dear June, That is such a bad problem to have those too. Probably just as bad or worse than nutria. And, from what I see on TV.....hard and dangerous to hunt. So, my sympathy for you for sure.

Celeste, is that what the American Hoggers hunt on TV? Did you know that guy is from Brownwood? Too funny! >^..^<

Dear Pat, Yes, American Hog Hunters on tv is a good show. It shows how dangerous it can be for sure. That guy is from Brownwood? How interesting.
I knew he was somewhere in that area because they had 'trees' near his house on tv. But didn't quite have 'trees' like in east or south Texas. So figured somewhere near Sweetwater-Abilene-Coleman-San Angelo areas.
That's cool! You got a good wild hog eating neighbor there....

Dear Amanda, We are looking forward to seeing what you can do with this challenge. I have all the confidence in the world that you can do it. Again.....do several so that you don't invest heavily in one. That way you free up your creativity also.

Dear All, When Cynthia was here demonstrating for the IPAT porcelain Exhibit at Grapevine Tower Gallery, she gave me some of her porcelain cards. Please do consider ordering them from Cynthia and let's have a regular exchange of them at least 2 times a year. They are great little porcelain cards. Maybe do these instead of MUGS during Christmas exchange parties? Anyhoo.......she wanted to see if the Tombow pen would work on it......and sure enough....it did. She had this done in about 4 minutes.....she is a very good drawing artist, btw. I love this little card. Here it is (and now she has to make up a story/poem about it for it to qualify for the drawing contest). Here is her poem which officially enters her in this tombow pen contest: The Windmill Growing up on a farm Out near the barn Stood a stately windmill. I remember it still. Pumping with the slightest breeze Thru the night. It put me to sleep, Until the morning light!

As far as Cynthia's porcelain cards...I love to paint on them..I fire them at either 017/ or 018... I hope to get a subject painted on one for the mini art show at our local galery again this year...Thanks Cynthia for sharing these tiles.... Ok....I gave my Tombow Pen a try yesterday... Don't know why I am showing anyone my first attempt... Not quite what I expected...and I am not good with write ups, so hubby would need to help me with a story and when I showed him this pix... Well, you notice NO story yet... He just said...looks like two boats passing on a stormy night... Oh yes, I need to try again..PennyN Indy

Penny, I agree with your hubby...it could be two boats passing by a waterfall, too. This is fun! Love your first try! I can't wait to get to Abilene to buy these paint pens...I looked at our Staples, but I think I need to go to a Hobby Lobby. >^..^<

Here is one of my stories . The old tree is clinging to the upper cliffs by the sea, Cliffs which are scarred and ravaged by the waves. A sailor, young and handsome, once waved his goodbyes to his lovely young sweetheart with tears in her eyes His ship disappeared smaller and smaller still till no longer she saw it from the cliff's high perched hill.
Many years have passed and now she sits by the window, Cane in hand. and a shawl for the cold. She leans close to the glass to search ever so deeply for her lost love who lives in her memories of old.
Tears softly fall as she hums a sailor song, and hope still glimmers that he will soon be home, Back in her arms that have waited so long. So, she sits by the window.... as the clock ticks on.

Celeste, No need to apologize for your creative thoughts in your art. That's what makes art so special. We all read something different and personal out of it! I should put my story into my piece to share with you all. God gives me the strength and peace I need each day! And I know he promises a answer for me one day. Love your story! ;D ;D June

(I did this yesterday at hospital while Leroy was getting a endoscope...boy...they named that medical instrument right!). I actually did 2 sketches from imagination. The other one didn't turn out so good. Neither did this one. However, I'm entering it in the contest. Here is the story: Roses have thorns, But roses be, The prettiest flower, one ever could see
why do they have thorns that question is key in the minds of flower lovers like you and like me.
so I went to the garden and asked Mr. Lee why do roses have thorns he said, "Let me see"
He snipped the thorns off from the rose he handed me now look...he said it can no longer sting thee
but this is the wrong lesson for you....you see? because God teaches us in the rose that life is to be
both roses and thorns not JUST one only Christ Jesus had both when he died on the tree
thorns as a crown beautiful love given tenderly He died for our sins so that we could be free
and how each will learn that their life on this earth will be sometimes... a thorn sometimes....beauty.

Dear Celeste, What a beautiful way to describe our Savior's Love. Every time I see a rose , I will think of your poem!
Just beautiful, The roses are just gorgeous also!
The thorns represent the storms of life, and the beauty ....wonderful friends like you . June

June.....you are a beautiful ROSE!
And I agree about storms in life being the thorns.
I sometimes wonder how people weather storms in their lives.
I woke up in a panic on night wondering how people who have lost their husbands....and also older folks who have no family left....can carry on.
But I read in the Bible that God will give us strength for our needs if we just trust in Him for such.
